Since before the elections, we have been hearing from many of you that you'd like more training in nonviolent direct action (NVDA), so we've partnered with Christian Peacemaker Teams to do just that. Register now!
Ruth Hamilton of Washington, D.C. recently signed up online to become a member of the PPF Activist Council. It didn't take long for her to do, but once she clicked "submit" at the bottom of the form, she helped us reach an important milestone. One hundred people have now joined the Activist Council!
Peace Seeking Churches is a working group of the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship Activist Council. Our mission is to promote the values of PPF as recorded in our statements “What We Believe!” and “The Peacemaker’s Creed” by establishing peace partnerships with and supporting the peacemaking efforts of PC (USA) churches, seminaries, and governing bodies.
When Latin American people speak there is an immediacy and directness to their words that feels different than in the US. As if we have been trained to talk in a way that covers some things up (the effect of nicer sheets and pillows?). Driving through the crowded and, yes, dirty streets, past homes and sidewalks that don’t seem to have been finished, you get the sense of seeing a world naked, in its original state, direct, without any fluff or pretense.
