Bil'in and Nonviolent Resistance by Iyad Burnat

"A quiet, intense man with piercing eyes, enthusiasm for action and a fierce love of family, Iyad Burnat has turned the defense of his little village of Bil'in into an international phenomenon. If Palestinian resistance on the ground has a face, it is his.

Another Son is Killed (A Hymn for Peace)

The following hymn is dedicated to the memory of Shaul Lahav, grandson of Paul and Helen Loeb (members of the church where we were then pastors), who was killed while serving in the Israel Defense Forces by a Palestinian on November 18, 2003 on the road between Bethlehem and Jerusalem.  See Carolyn Gillette's hymn note for more on this tragic story that inspired this hymn of lament.

Can We Be Peacemakers for Palestine?

"Can We Be Peacemakers For Palestine?" is an educational program developed by the Presbyterian Peace Fellowship for religious, community and other groups interested in justice for Palestinians. The program consists of three sessions of about two hours each. The sessions could be scheduled over three separate days or all three on one day.

Techniques and Talking Points: For pastors and other church leaders regarding Israel and Palestine

Over the coming months, many of us will be in the position of interpreting the actions of the General Assembly in our congregations and with friends who are Presbyterian and from other faith traditions, and possibly with leaders from the Jewish and Muslim communities. Some of us will have the opportunity to craft letters to the editor or to make appearances on local radio or TV stations. We want to provide you with some background to help you prepare well to take advantage of those opportunities.

Boycott SodaStream Days of Action: Nov. 29 to Dec. 10, 2013

Target and other stores are selling SodaStream products this holiday season, despite the fact that SodaStream profits from a system of brutal ethnic segregation that denies Palestinians, but not Israeli settlers, basic civil rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Boycott SodaStream in an action near you between November 29 and December 10. Learn more here.

Boycott the Gaza Invasion this Thanksgiving

by Chris Iosso
The grim truth about Israel’s current bombing of Gaza is that the U.S. government will do very little to limit the one-sided collective punishment or correct the claims that this pre-election military campaign by the Netanyahu government is about “defense.” The casualty toll already confirms the vast inequality of power, recalling the last invasion of Gaza in late 2008 and early 2009 that killed 1400 Palestinians to 14 Israelis.
