The Rev. Timothy F. Simpson is a co-founder of the Christian Peace Witness and Editor of the journal Political Theology (Equinox Press). He is an Adjunct Professor of Religious Studies at the University of North Florida and Parish Associate at the Lake Shore Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. Tim holds graduate degrees from Liberty University, the University of Florida, Columbia Theological Seminary and Union Presbyterian Seminary, and his work has appeared in such publications as Christian Century, Lectionary Homiletics, and Koinonia. After many years in parish ministry in which he served congregations in IL, IN, VA and FL, from 2005-2007 he led the Christian Alliance for Progress, a progressive advocacy organization, for which he was a frequent spokesperson on TV, talk radio and in print media as well. Since 2006 Tim has been an Itinerant Mission Co-Worker of the Office of Peacemaking of the General Assembly, speaking around the country on Nonviolence in Early Christianity. He also serves the larger church as Old Testament Editor of the Bible Content Exam for the years of 2009-2010 which is given to PCUSA ministry candidates. He lives in Jacksonville, FL with his wife, the Rev. Kathryn McLean, who is also a PCUSA minister, and his three children, Stephen 21, Caitlin 18, and Jacob 14.
