Lenten Reflection On Love

Love. God’s wondrous blessing and greatest gift. God’s love for us is liberating, it gives us the courage to do Her work in Her broken and imperfect and marvelous creation. God’s love for us is humbling, we can never be worthy of it. God’s Love is comforting, it is unconditional.Love. Ephesians 1:4 tells us that God gave us love even before creating the world “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.”Love. “do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8) Love. “love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Luke (10:27) Love. “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Matthew 5:43-45) Love. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear” (John 4:18)Love. Affectionately, devotedly, passionately, abundantly, imperfectly, fearlessly, fiercely, motherly, fatherly, sisterly, brotherly.Love. In the brokenness and imperfection of the human condition, love as God loves us. “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
